Truly epic in every sense of the word, Universal Studios has shared the first glimpses of the upcoming Universal Epic Universe as part of the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida, US. The fourth theme park of the resort will have astounding never-seen-before attractions, rides, dining and shopping destinations, and luxury hotels. So, get ready for the adventure of a lifetime as the gates swing open in 2025.
Universal Epic Universe spans 750 acres (over 3 square km). It will have five stunning worlds — Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How To Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. Within them, lie over 50 unprecedented and unforgettable experiences.
Universal Studios released an announcement video on January 30, 2024, which details the 500-room lavish hotel next to the park.
This colossal project has been underway since 2019 and was expected to be ready by 2023 but was delayed because of the pandemic. The Universal Epic Universe joins the line of other magnificent parks — Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay water park.

Celestial Park
“Celestial Park is the cosmic heart of Universal Epic Universe, where wondrous discoveries await among the lush greenery, tree-lined walkways and dancing fountains. Begin your cosmic journey of discovery in a world between worlds full of sensory delights for all to enjoy together,” states Universal Studios.
This is your first destination in the new Universal theme park that connects all the other worlds. The magnum opus is aptly described as a “world in and of itself” by Brian Robinson, Chief Creative Officer, of Universal Creative.
Setting the stage for what’s in store, the entry itself is quite a spectacle. Dotted with gardens, beautiful waterways and several shopping destinations, the Celestial Park is the key to the portal.
Among many things, the new racing coaster called Starfall Racers and the lively Constellation Carousel are the highlights. Enjoy the beautiful pathways, gorgeous architecture and animated fountains and waterfalls.
Another major attraction is the Astronomica. “An interactive wet-play attraction designed as a compass rose that points to the portals and attractions around Epic,” it lights up at night for an extravagant view, states a Universal Studios blog.
This is a haven for shoppers. Visit the Nintendo Super Store for official toys, merchandise, apparel and souvenirs. For those looking to satiate their taste buds, details of two themed restaurants have been revealed — Atlantic and The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant.
The Atlantic will be surrounded by shimmering waters of Neptune’s pool and feature floor-to-ceiling Victorian glass walls. It will offer fresh seafood and surf and turf options.

Meanwhile, The Blue Dragon lives up to its name with neon dragons and a pan-Asian menu with delicacies from China and Japan. Visitors get to dine under lanterns and glowing constellations. They can also grab a drink at the Tiger Bar.
The Helios Grand Hotel is also located next to the Celestial Park and is within walking distance from the Epic. It “offers a fantastical world where the heavens and earth unite to elevate your stay at Universal Epic Universe,” states Universal Studios. The full-service hotel has celestial decor and a Mediterranean theme about it.
The Stella Nova and Terra Luna hotels also offer a resplendent staying option. Although they feature the same galactic and constellation theme, both have different offerings.
Both hotels will have 750 guest rooms each, resort-style amenities and several food and drink options. While Stella Nova opens on January 21, 2025, Terra Luna opens on February 25, 2025. Visitors can book their rooms now.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
The Fantastic Beasts franchise is the muse for this themed world. Guests can step into Paris of the 1920s and traverse to the British Ministry of Magic in the 1990s. “Explore international wizarding communities and the magic that connects them in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ – Ministry of Magic™,” states Universal Studios.
This comes as Universal Studios’ third Harry Potter-themed park after Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
Super Nintendo World

6. Tenggol Island
Tenggol Island which is situated in the state of Terengganu, the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia. One of best diving in Malaysia here is you can see the whale shark if you’re very lucky.

This island is popular among more experienced divers as the waters surrounding it are wreck dive spots, and has only one resort on it. Consider the option to book via individual dive operators for best all-inclusive packages.

7. Perhentian Island
Still in Terengganu, the two Perhentian islands are Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil.
Accommodation choices are aplenty on both islands, from budget right up to luxury stays with the bulk of budget accommodation located on Perhentian Kecil, which is livelier come nightfall, and is the choice island for backpackers.
These islands are closed during the monsoon on the East Coast from November through to February.
Accessibility: Option to fly into Terrenganu, drive up, or take overnight busses to Kuala Besut jetty for the morning ferries
Good to know: Travellers from Singapore can opt to hop on the Transnasional business class overnight bus
8. Redang Island
This island is also under Terrenganu state administration, and almost all accommodation here are resorts. While snorkelling and scuba diving is a must, other than water based activities why not enjoy Redang’s beaches which are perfect to simply relax the day away.

9. Tioman Island
Tioman Island in the state of Pahang is a duty free island, and an abundance of resorts around the island, with a jungle and forestation in the middle or the island.

A small Malay village with shops and eateries is in Kampung Tekek; and to get here is only by water taxis.

10. Lankayan Island
Back to Sabah Borneo, Lankayan is quite the secret among divers, and less visited due to its location in the Sulu sea.
But if you make this trip, you won’t regret it anytime soon especially if you’re lucky to spot some whale sharks!

11. Dayang Island
Situated in Johor, this island is practically unknown even to most Malaysians. The island is picking up in popularity in recent years so if you ask us, the best time to go is now!

12. Pemanggil Island
Pemanggil Island is a haven for divers and fishermen, as most fishing competitions are held here and also a spot to catch Black Marlins and mackerels.
Being small, electricity on Pemanggil Island is controlled, and switched on from 1930- 0730 daily.
Accessibility: Get in to Johor then to Mersing jetty and a boat transfer
Good to know: Best to visit from March to June
13. Labuan Island
Labuan in Miri Borneo is an island with its own appeal, firstly it’s duty free throughout and offering two notable wrecks from World War II and other wrecks spots as well.

14. Langkawi Island
Malaysia’s largest duty free island is way up north in the state of Kedah neighbouring Thailand. There’s a lot to do in Langkawi it’s best to spend a few days, up to a week here.

15. Kapas Island
Belonging to the state of Terengganu, this less visited island is a magnet for wreck dive enthusiasts, as its home to a Japanese World War II ship wreck, and offers a chance to glimpse reef sharks and turtles who favour the waters around here.
