2. Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum
Bapa Nyonya Heritage Museum illustrates the incredible history of Baba Nyonya, the Chinese who have assimilated the local Malay culture in Straits. The ethnic is commonly known as Peranakan.
The museum is privately operated by the descendants of Chan’s family, which was once the richest family in town. They repair, restore all furnishings and make it exactly the typical Bapa Nyonya residence in 19th century.
The three-storey museum is beautifully designed from exterior to interior. Featuring the hand-painted tiles, carved teakwood doors and the Venetian shuttered windows, it even houses a collection of wood furniture and gold-leaf fixtures.

3. Cheng Ho’s Cultural Museum
Opened in 2006, Cheng Ho’s Cultural Museum is a comprehensive gallery exhibiting the life of Cheng Ho in Malacca. The ancient building was reconstructed to resemble the Ming architecture, with a bell tower and a drum flaking at the entrance.
The museum is believed to be built by Cheng Ho as his warehouse complex 600 years ago. He was the admiral of Ming Dynasty who frequently visited Malacca and even marry her daughter to the Sultan of Malacca.
However, there are scholars claiming that the real warehouse was the one in Bukit Cina.

4. Cheng Hoon Teng Temple
Built in 1646, Cheng Hoon Teng Temple stands as the oldest worship place of Buddhist in Malaysia. It has received the UNESCO award for its outstanding architectural design.
The modest temple was called “Merciful Cloud Temple” by some of the locals. It has several prayer halls and a big courtyard. All the materials used in construction were from China.
Dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy – Guan Yin, the temple was built based on the Feng Shui principles. There is a big gold statue of Guan Yin standing prominently right in the middle of the main prayer hall.
Besides, there are small chambers around the temple which are dedicated to the deceased ancestors. Fake money and paper-made luxury items are burned to provide a better condition to them in their afterlife.
Built in 1748, Kampung Kling mosque is a cross-culture mosque that blends Hindu, Chinese, Sumatran and the local Malay in one. The mosque was declared as a historical monument in 1999.
Even though the mosque underwent the renovation twice, it still retains the original architectural design. The only difference is they replace the all the wooden structure with sustainable concrete materials.
Unlike the typical mosque with spherical dome, Kampung Kling mosque has a triple-tiered pyramidal roof on its top. Inside, the mosque has a unique blend of Portuguese and English glazed tiles and a beautiful wooden pulpit with Chinese and Hindu-style carvings.

6. Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple
Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Malaysia. Featuring the Dutch architectural design, the rectangular-shaped Hindu temple is dedicated to the Vinayagar, the elephant-headed deity in Hindu.
It’s hard to miss out the bright yellow temple along the street. The temple has colourful statues craved by ostentatious stone. Most of them feature the figures of Hindu deities and animals.
Inside, the main altar is dedicated to the Ganesh while the side altars are dedicated to Ganesh’s parents and Lord Muraga, his younger brother. Despite being hundreds years old, the structures and content are still well-preserved.

11. The Stadthuys
Being the oldest-surviving building built by Dutch, The Stadthyus was once the residence of the Dutch officers and governors. It was built as the focus point of Dutch government after the Portuguese fort was ruined.
In 1982, the building was converted to museum. It displays the unique architecture of Dutch but due to the long time, it only left with louvred windows, massive walls, chunky doors and wrought-iron hinges.
Besides, the museum also exhibits the history of Malacca from the Sultan of Malacca, Portuguese, British and Dutch colonization until today.

1. The Beginning

The Beginning, or the entrance way into the theme park is an entrance like no other built with giant Lego blocks. The area of The Beginning is the place where you purchase or collect your entrance tickets.

2. Lego City
In Lego City, kids have control as the games and activities are all interactive, and for the young at heart you’re welcome to join in the fun too. There are 8 attractions in Lego City, and 2 eateries.
The attractions and games in Lego City are popular because they allow children to drive, navigate, steer various automobiles, ships and even planes and fire trucks, with everything made out of Lego of course. Out of the eight attractions, one is actually a live performance show on stage, not to be missed by any Ninjago fan out there.
The Driving School and the Junior Driving School has children steer and drive Lego cars and even race. The Driving School also educates children about road safety and signals, fun and educational playtime all rolled into one, and students of this driving school will be awarded with a special Lego Driver’s License.
The Boating School on the other hand is a more relaxed ride, guests steer down the water path controlling the boat’s speed, although it can’t go very fast so there’s no racing here.
Another ride where guests can steer is at Lego City Airport. Younger guests, three years and above can enjoy this ride and steer the direction of the Lego planes, and be their own pilot.
Other areas worth checking out in this section of the park are Lego Express ride, Lego Rescue Academy. Take a ride aboard the Lego Express, where children and adults alike board for a Lego train ride that routes around the park’s main attractions, plus children above 6 can ride alone by themselves as the ride itself isn’t fast moving making it a great way to see the park attractions without walking.

The main highlight of LEGO Ninjago The Ride is the Ninjago 4D ride. The first ever sensory controlled 4D ride in Asia, is here in Legoland Malaysia. Immersive, enthralling and interactive, it’s a ride at the forefront of ride and projection technology.
Watch and get involved in the Ninjago world as your hand controls special powers to defeat the Great Devourer and save the land! You hand gestures will be able to disperse fire, earth, ice and lightning powers all from your seat throughout the ride, as you travel to the different lands in Ninjago.
This ride requires warriors to be a minimum height of 115cm and at least 6 years of age, while those under the height and age limit must be accompanied by an adult, sitting with them in the same ride car. 5. Imagination
A large play area with interactive activities, games and rides this section of the park also includes a restaurant, Pizza Mania. There are six attractions in this section designed for children to get creative and build with bricks with Lego or larger Duplo bricks for the smaller adventurer.
Of the attractions, three are rides suitable for small children, however each ride does have a minimum age and height limit, and where the guests do not meet the requirements; a companion or guardian is needed.
For a ride with the whole family, the Observation Deck takes guests to spectacular heights to view the whole of Legoland. The ride is a circular glass pod and turns slowly as it reaches for the top of the tower. For 360 degree views from way up high, guests’ minimum are of 6 years old and 120 cm in height.
To experience a ride with no mechanics involved, try out the Kids Power Tower. Guests will learn about the pulley system which allows guests to pull themselves up and down the ride. Educational and fun even for adults. Guests need to be of 4 years and meet a minimum of 100cm for this ride.
Smaller guests can enjoy an easy moving Duplo train ride, on the Duplo Express which takes guest around Duplo Playtown. The ride is a replica of the larger Lego Express located in Lego City. The ride can accommodate guests of 1 year and above with a minimum of 80cm in height.
For more building and constructing fun, head to the indoor Build & Test area. Fully covered and air conditioned, offers some relief from the outside heat and allows for guest to get creative in building towers from blocks and then testing them on an earthquake platform. Guests can then take part in a competition to see which tower will survive the dreaded earthquake test.
Based on the popular The Lego Movie 4D and series, LEGO Studios is a special screening of the movie in 4D, an immersive movie experience complete with wind, water and fog effects to bring the story and characters to life.
The first screening of the movie was aired in cinemas in 2014, and this 4D movie you’re going to watch in Legoland bring back to the big screen the same characters, but what’s special is that there’s a new villain made for the screening here in Legoland. 6. Lego Kingdoms
A section of the theme park that’s created to reflect medieval kingdoms and castles, let your imagination run wild with the choice of rides, play areas and activities on offer here. Be a king, warrior or princess for the day, it’s possible in Lego Kingdoms.
This world is all about the medieval times, with dragons castles, kings, knights and princesses were to be found. The atmosphere is filled with traditional music of the era lends to the realistic feel of the land.
There are many play areas here, including The Forestmen’s Hideout where guests can play, run and climb in a castle, for sure they can’t do this in any other castle. There are rides here for smaller knights and princesses and The Royal Joust is for the younger ones only.
A roller coaster, the Dragon’s Apprentice is for the brave and who meet the minimum of 100cm and of four years of age. Guests below the requirements are to be accompanied by a companion of at least 12 years of age. Bigger children and adults can make their way to the larger coaster, The Dragon.
It’s one among the most popular rides which will take you right through the LEGO Kingdom Castles. The ride moves at 60 km/hr and will show you the Royal Family dining, the torture chamber of the palace, and the treasure that the dragon is guarding.
After the excitement of the roller coaster, smaller thrill seekers can try out the Royal Joust ride, where they’ll be taken on a Lego horse ride, akin to actually being a real horse ready to battle an opponent and emerge the champion. Junior jousters from 4- 11 years old and above 92cm in height can enjoy this ride.
Merlin’s Challenge ride in this section is another ride suited for smaller warriors and princesses as they’re taken round in a circle spun by no other than the legendary wizard, Merlin. Guests permitted must be of 4 years and above and reach a height of 100cm.
This section includes two restaurants, and King’s Market a shop fit for you and for royalty, to complete your adventure. Make your way to the Castle Stage for short performances, happening twice a day with the second slot occurring at 16:00 daily.

7. Lego Technic
As Lego fans are aware, Technic is the line of Lego bricks that’s suitable for older children and teens, and created to enable creativity to be fused with the basics of engineering such as pulleys and wheels all interconnected into a finished movable structure, resulting more often into robots and vehicles.
In this section, children can discover various play centers which encourages them to build and help unleash their creativity through play workshops. Lego Technic also encompasses a Lego Star Wars Miniland, a Lego Star Wars Outlet, two eateries and a number of rides and attractions all based on Lego Technic build and parts.

21. Tiong Hua Chinese Heritage Museum
Tiong Hua Chinese Heritage Museum is a historical place in Johor you can visit to gain insight into the history of Chinese immigrants in Johor.
The museum has four storeys in total with English signage to explain the unique skills between different Chinese dialects that chose to make Johor their home.
There is a specific historical period on each floor of the museum.
Collections of once-personal artifacts like musical instruments, photos, coins and porcelain ornaments are on display for viewing.

22. Istana Besar JB
Once the home of the Sultan of Johor: Istana Besar is the impressive Royal Palace during Sultan Abu Bakar’s rule.

Visitors are welcome to see the royal collection of antiques and other heirlooms on display at the Royal Abu Bakar Museum too!

23. Johor Bahru Old Chinese Temple
In the midst of modern buildings is the Old Chinese Temple in Johor Bahru.
It represents unity among five Chinese clans – “Teochew”, “Hokkien”, “Hakka”, Cantonese” and “Hainan” for over 140 years now.
At one point, these different clans were at odds with one another.
The temple served to bring them together in a commonplace of worship.

24. Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque
Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque sits along Jalan Skudai in Johor Bahru at the top of a hill, overlooking the Straits of Johor.
Dating back to 1892 and 1900, this is Johor’s official state mosque with a capacity to accommodate up to 2,000 devotees.
The architect, Tuan Haji Mohamed Arif bin Punak’s intentions are apparent in the design of the mosque:
It features both English Victorian and Malay/Moorish elements and the minarets even look like old British clock towers!
