  • Please use Touch ‘n Go card to enter the car parking.
  • Small locker rental is RM20 & Large locker rental is RM40.
  • The water park is fully non-smoking and there is no smoking area provided as well.
  • You need to take off spectacles or sunglasses while playing the water slides. It’s best if you can wear contact lenses here.
  • There are restaurants inside the park but if you are on a budget, we recommend you to have your breakfast at other Desaru food restaurant in advance as the food price is quite expensive.
  • You cannot bring your own food and beverages inside. There will be security checks conducted on your bags.
  • Cabana is available for rental but on first come first serve basis.
  • All-day tickets and annual passes sold are non-refundable.
  • The water park provides no refunds for bad weather, attractions or rides closure for maintenance or any other circumstances.
  • The annual pass – Splash Pass is applicable to MyKad holder and foreigner. It must be redeemed within 3 months after the purchase date.
  • Besides, this annual pass is not valid on the first and second days of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Chinese New Year. From 15th December to 31st December, it is not valid too.

Today, I’m going to share with you how to get to Rawa Island from Singapore as well as everything about Rawa Island, Johor.

How To Get To Rawa Island From Singapore

Bus From Singapore To Rawa Island

The most budget transportation to Mersing will be taking public transport offered by Five Stars Express and WTS coach.

The pickup point of Five Stars Express is at Golden Mile Complex whereas the pickup point of WTS coach is at Singapore Flyer. One way ticket costs SGD $31.50 and SGD $40.00 respectively.

The coach departs very early in the morning, at 6:15 am so that the passengers can catch the ferry to Rawa Island at 11:00 am. It takes 3 hours to arrive safely at Mersing Jetty but it still depends on the traffic condition.

However, as the bus is only available once per day, it is recommended to book the bus ticket online beforehand. The return ticket can also be booked directly.

Pros: Cheapest option

Cons: You need to disembark from the bus at Singapore Woodlands Checkpoint (Singapore Immigration) and queue for 40 minutes to 1 hour. After that, you need to wait for the rest of the bus passengers to be done.

Then, you need to disembark from the bus again at Johor Custom (Malaysia Immigration) and queue another 40 minutes to 1 hour. It’s quite hassled because you also need to bring your luggage down for scanning. This procedure is applied for entering and existing Singapore.

How To Go To Rawa Island From Mersing

1. Ferry From Mersing Jetty To Rawa Island

Go to Rawa Island By Ferry

Rawa Island is a 1-hour ferry ride from Mersing Jetty. The tickets are sold at the sales counter which costs RM35 per ride.

The ferry departs every 1 to 2 hours between 9:30am and 5:30pm, depending on the tidal conditions especially during the Full Moon.

2. Boat From Mersing Jetty To Rawa Island

Go to Rawa Island By Boat

Alternatively, take a 30 minutes boat ride to Rawa Island. Normally, it costs RM35 per way but it depends on the size of traveling group.

There is no fixed departure time but more boats are available during peak season (March-September). Boat transfer can be arranged with any of the Rawa Island resorts package in advance.

The resort offers Rawa full board package includes boat transfer from Mersing Jetty to Rawa Island, accommodation and meals. Just to inform that there is only 2 resort you can choose either Alang’s Rawa Resort or Rawa Island Resort.

How To Get To Kelong Acheh Mersing Via Penyabong Jetty

You can opt to take a taxi to Changi Point Ferry Terminal. From there, you can take a boat to the Tg. Pengelih Jetty for customs and immigration processing and onward to Chia Soon Kelong. Alternatively, you can take the scenic route through Johor Bahru and onward to Tg Pengelih Jetty; a journey of about 80 or so kilometers and thereafter take a boat to Chia Soon Kelong.

 

4. Kukup Kelong

Kukup Kelong is a 100 year old off-shore fishing village. It inhabitants are mostly of Chinese origin as it has been for all these years.

Over time, people came to the Kelong for its fresh and delicious seafood and its off-shore location. Soon people came to spend weekends here and chalets to accommodate them were put up.

How To Get To Kukup Kelong

Use the Johor Causeway to cross into Malaysia from Singapore and onwards to Johor Bahru. From this city, use the Lebuhraya Hubungan Kedua and join the Lebuhraya Pontian after 15 km. Drive on this road for up to where it joins Jalan Kukup. Drive into town and head for the jetty where a boat will take you to the Kelong.

5. Ah Fatt Kelong Fishing

This is one Kelong that is in Penyabong area. There is a rich variety of fish that can be caught at this site. Being a favorite for people who love to fish, it is usually has a sizeable crowd on weekends and public holidays.

The best thing about it is that you will always have a place to fish despite the crowds and that you can hire fishing equipment from the Kelong management if you did not bring your own.

How To Get To Ah Fatt Kelong Via Penyabong Jetty

From Singapore, use the causeway to get to Johor Bahru. From there you take the main road to Mersing to the northeast. From Mersing, drive on to Penyabong Jetty. This city is about 2 hour’s drive from Johor Bahru. From here, it is a 26 kilometer ride to the jetty where you will take a boat to Ah Fatt Kelong.

 

6. Pulau Kelong Sibu
